Octave labels vary between DAWs, so use the MIDI number and frequency when precision matters. Very low notes can be difficult to reproduce on small systems; audition the complete bass patch and its harmonics rather than selecting notes from frequency alone.

These free DnB production tools remove repetitive calculations from common studio tasks. They do not replace listening. A mathematically synchronised delay can still crowd a vocal, a technically correct sub note can still feel weak on a particular system, and transparent time stretching can still change a breakbeat’s movement.

When should I use the BPM calculator?

Use it when setting unsynchronised delay times, pre-delay, compressor release, modulation rates or effects that accept milliseconds rather than musical note values. Start with the calculated value and adjust when the groove needs a deliberate push or pull.

Which sub frequencies work best for drum and bass?

There is no single correct sub frequency. The note must suit the key, bassline and playback systems. The calculator helps you identify the fundamental and harmonics; our free production guides explain how to balance a clean sub with audible mid-bass information.

Does changing tempo alter pitch?

Modern warp modes can change duration while preserving pitch. Repitch modes link speed and pitch, so increasing the tempo also raises the sound. Use the tempo tool to predict that shift before deciding which method suits the material.

Are these tools only for Ableton Live?

No. The calculations apply in Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Bitwig and other DAWs. The control names may differ, but milliseconds, hertz, sample counts, tempo ratios and semitone relationships remain the same.
