How to build a drum & bass learning plan that actually works

Progress comes from choosing the right constraint. Instead of trying to improve every production skill at once, build a short cycle around one musical outcome.

A practical approach

  1. Spend one week recreating the groove and energy of two reference tracks.
  2. Use the second week to write three short ideas without polishing them.
  3. Choose the strongest idea, arrange it, then finish it before starting again.

A finished track exposes the next useful lesson far more clearly than another folder of abandoned loops.
